THE SECRET ICU

PLZ MY FRIENDS EVEN IF IT IS LONG EACH ONE OF YOU HAS TO READ THIS,Dear doctors PLZ WE WANT GLASS DOORS OR WINDOWS IN YOUR INVISIBLE ICUs,let us at least know what you do inside , you don't abuse and beat them right ? then why can't all ICU's have a provision of glass doors or windows from where a family member can at least watch what you are doing to our patient, recently in India or even may be in other parts of the world there is this horrifying trend of taking your patient in the ICU and not letting anybody in , in the name of hygiene and infection , my dad has gone through a lot , I have seen doctors sleeping when I suddenly entered the ICU when his pulse was going down, I have seen sweepers sweeping the bed with the same broom they use in toilets, I have seen staff holding him like a rabbit as if hanging for a procedure in which after every few minutes you are supposed to check if he is fine ,but they did not bother to halt because that lady doctor had to rush home after her shift, I have seen my dad getting swollen in one night to twice his size and I just could not recognise him in the morning, I have seen my aunt die in a knee operation because they just take away the patient behind closed doors and such idiotic attendants who get the job under several provisions and by several means in India , who can't explain you in a proper language what they are doing to your patient are there with them for the whole night.

I have seen ICU's they look like hell , with all patients literally pierced with thousand tubes , most of them conscious, please I can imagine, after putting ventilator in their mouth and leaving them at the mercy of these 9 to 5 workers , not letting family be around is giving your dear ones a painful death, DON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE IN ICU's , it is very important that the person in the ICU sees his family and the family sees him , you got to have glass doors in the ICU,at least windows exclusive to every bed that can be separated by curtains if you don't want people to see everything, at least let them see what you are doing to their patients, I would like to trust you , but for days they keep saying the person is improving , he is better and one fine morning they just inform you he is no more.Which nurse forgot to change the oxygen cylinder of a semi conscious patient at night, which assistant, did not attend to a ventilator patient when he was choked due to secretion in the tube , which inexperienced intern tried his hand on him , which nurse gave a wrong injection and which patient fell from the bed and they picked him and kept him on the bed again , which intern did not risk his job by taking a call and preferred to watch the patient die as the senior was not available, can you ever know ??? and now doctors are such a breed that to earn as much as they can , they visit several hospitals and sit in their private clinics and mostly rely on assistants and when one doctor has started a treatment he leaves for a foreign country for a seminar and next day another one comes to add few more medicines which he feels are more apt or leaves quietly not to rule out what blunder the previous doctor has done,I have seen it all in the best of hospitals forget about general hospitals, ......so plz there has to be a provision of family presence with whatever precautions and transparent walls to know what you are doing.I have experienced that the infections that you get in ICU are more dangerous that what you get from visitors, ICU's are are not only a way to make money but also horrifying and fatal if your patient is left alone, plz we need to have the provision to be able to see our loved ones in the ICU.Have air tight ICU's but with glass windows it is a must, In hospitals lakhs die more due to lack of this personal concern than disease.I understand you are professionals ,you give treatment , let us take care.

Wish you a dirty birthday....

Goodmorning , just a thought , most of us don't know here why we cut cakes or light candles on birthdays, and blow them ,since childhood we saw people doing it so we started doing it, then we saw some people in a crowd giving birthday bumps ,we started doing it, we don't know any third line of the birthday anthem since childhood because we never heard any so we started singing what they sang,we really don't know how,why and what to do,so we do it ,may be the shortcut is become the part of the crowd. Then gradually came the trend of putting cake on the face of the birthday person and his/her hair and clothes. What sadistic pleasure is there in spoiling someone's face and hair and make up and birthday dress ? is it our instinct as a human being or we can't help copying what we have seen someone do just because it is not from our culture we don't know why and what for.It spoils the entire moment, just because we don't know what more to do, we just do it,now instead of wishing a person and admiring his dressing up for his birthday we are pouncing on him with cake chocolate and cream all over his body, this is what we call wishing ?

Not many like it , I am sure but no one wants to be left behind in following the new ritual . Why do we have to wish someone by causing him so much discomfort ? The person has to leave the place for a long time for cleaning his/her dress and hair and face and then everybody in their late 30's and 40's jump and clap and howl like a 4 year old , and now people have started doing it to guests also, everybody is so uneasy with all that cream till you go home and take a shower, sometimes really avoid standing in that place just to avoid this....this is not done yaar. Here several children have not tasted a cake in their life and here cakes lie on the floor sticking to the shoes, what dirty mindless customs we develop sometimes,a friend today has a swollen eye after someone just stuffed that cream in his eye,Happy Birthday yaar ,ab aise hi manti hain birthdays yahan.

Dream Station .... :)

Recently was travelling by train ,assured that I get a window seat, I have realized ,train journey is meditation for me, I am truly myself, even if the journey is of 18 - 20 hours , I realize I am just looking out of the window, quietly , without thinking anything, every mountain, every field , every hut ,gives me a new imagination , I in that one moment dwell in it ,in the night every small bulb lit in a small house at the top of the mountain or all alone in a field draws me towards it,I imagine myself staying in it and in that moment I get free of every desire to be known, or rich or successful , and still it is so gratifying, and it's bliss, whenever the train has to suddenly halt at a small station because of a red signal ,I have to jump out of it and ,I become the inhabitant of that place in a moment, may be the actor enjoys his weird brain,I get into the mode of imagining living in that small place ,there is usually no one at the station ,you can see a small station master's cabin ,some taps, which usually are not working ,fields all around ,the entire station seems like a small film set and then I spot a tiny house somewhere, and that is where I want to stay.
I can very well stay in that house all my life, just give me an upgraded laptop and a movie making camera.Even at home, I am usually locked in my studio, rest of the house seem useless,I don't need anything more than myself most of the time,my favorite dish is Daal Roti so , I don't need a lot of money either.... :) but that solitary and dreamy world inside and outside that space is all what I live in even when I am in the crowd, and then the train whistle breaks my trance and I board it again promising that station , I will come back someday for long.....DISGUSTING BORE FELLOW,I KNOW......:) but train Journeys usually for me are refreshing and I end up meeting the dreamy me,who lives everywhere else other than where he is living :)

THIS IS NOT LOVE

Hi friends, lets not make our parents feel 'death deserving' much before their last day. This is not love. I imagine when I would be 60 and as our society is, the only thing I would get to hear is oh 'is umr mein ......' is umr mein (even at this age)' when sometimes they are more active and worthy than most of us.Our society and we children take the first step in making our parents realize ,their last phase has started, their life is over and we expect them to leave soon,.........and we don't even realize it.
Yesterday someone in front of me told a 70 year old lady , ooohhhh even at this age you walk with a straight back and are so active, so what should she do ? die ? or think like your loser self ...... :/ some people really don't know how to express to our elders that they care, 'aap ab ghar mein raho, hum hain ,is umr mein bhaga daudi karne ki zarurat nahin' (you take rest now, no need to work now),do we realize what are we saying ? we are saying "its over , till you breathe now , there is nothing that we believe , expect or feel you should or can do ever besides waiting for physical death",even if you tell me you mean something else, this is what the elderly person feels.
A person who does not feel old from within for the first time is reminded by us that to others he has started looking old.If you are telling elders that we expect them to behave differently because the age dictates, they have nothing to look forward to than pass away someday in sleep.Everyday we talk to our elders like this,we discourage them from dreaming something new , planning something new, taking up something new, we ask them not to work , not to earn , not to dress up every morning and go out of the house, we stop them from sitting in the best chair in our office ,and feel they are more worthy than us , we leave them home behind to listen all the time , "now at this age eat selectively", "now these problems are age related" , "is umr mein ye karna shobha nahin deta" (you don't look good doing such things at this age)AGE AGE AGE AGE ........ they are usually isolated and we think we are showing concern , I imagine ,every night their fear of leaving their children and grandchildren soon , must not be less,.......
What an age ,when suddenly your children start asking you to make a will, they stop buying new things for you , they start selling off your vehicles, throwing your office files in front of your eyes.... in every action around, there is this indirect expectation from you, to die....soon.
Plz don't stop your parents from working IF THEY WANT , from having a disciplined life ,if they have to die let them die on the office chair than in a cot in your house, let them have a day's schedule , let them have their friends, let them receive several calls all day long, let them pursue their hobbies, plan new things in life , have some new goals and remind them that now age of a normal human being is not 60 or 70 or 80, .....we are not living in 10th century , we have better knowledge of our bodies and better care , If you do not want them to die soon, ask them to attend your office or work , if you will suddenly ask your busy father who all his life has established that empire, to sit at home , you are forcing him to die soon , ask him to get up every morning and come to office with you even if for sometime if he wants,it will make him know, he is wanted, if elders have other plans of touring the country or the world or have a leisurely life, no problem don't force them, but don't make them age faster. When a person gets up on time , dresses up and moves out of the house , he assures a better and more active life for himself,so let them know they are still wanted and more worthy , the best way to die is to die active. ......
