Hi friends, lets not make our parents feel 'death deserving' much before their last day. This is not love. I imagine when I would be 60 and as our society is, the only thing I would get to hear is oh 'is umr mein ......' is umr mein (even at this age)' when sometimes they are more active and worthy than most of us.Our society and we children take the first step in making our parents realize ,their last phase has started, their life is over and we expect them to leave soon,.........and we don't even realize it.
Yesterday someone in front of me told a 70 year old lady , ooohhhh even at this age you walk with a straight back and are so active, so what should she do ? die ? or think like your loser self ...... :/ some people really don't know how to express to our elders that they care, 'aap ab ghar mein raho, hum hain ,is umr mein bhaga daudi karne ki zarurat nahin' (you take rest now, no need to work now),do we realize what are we saying ? we are saying "its over , till you breathe now , there is nothing that we believe , expect or feel you should or can do ever besides waiting for physical death",even if you tell me you mean something else, this is what the elderly person feels.
A person who does not feel old from within for the first time is reminded by us that to others he has started looking old.If you are telling elders that we expect them to behave differently because the age dictates, they have nothing to look forward to than pass away someday in sleep.Everyday we talk to our elders like this,we discourage them from dreaming something new , planning something new, taking up something new, we ask them not to work , not to earn , not to dress up every morning and go out of the house, we stop them from sitting in the best chair in our office ,and feel they are more worthy than us , we leave them home behind to listen all the time , "now at this age eat selectively", "now these problems are age related" , "is umr mein ye karna shobha nahin deta" (you don't look good doing such things at this age)AGE AGE AGE AGE ........ they are usually isolated and we think we are showing concern , I imagine ,every night their fear of leaving their children and grandchildren soon , must not be less,.......
What an age ,when suddenly your children start asking you to make a will, they stop buying new things for you , they start selling off your vehicles, throwing your office files in front of your eyes.... in every action around, there is this indirect expectation from you, to die....soon.
Plz don't stop your parents from working IF THEY WANT , from having a disciplined life ,if they have to die let them die on the office chair than in a cot in your house, let them have a day's schedule , let them have their friends, let them receive several calls all day long, let them pursue their hobbies, plan new things in life , have some new goals and remind them that now age of a normal human being is not 60 or 70 or 80, .....we are not living in 10th century , we have better knowledge of our bodies and better care , If you do not want them to die soon, ask them to attend your office or work , if you will suddenly ask your busy father who all his life has established that empire, to sit at home , you are forcing him to die soon , ask him to get up every morning and come to office with you even if for sometime if he wants,it will make him know, he is wanted, if elders have other plans of touring the country or the world or have a leisurely life, no problem don't force them, but don't make them age faster. When a person gets up on time , dresses up and moves out of the house , he assures a better and more active life for himself,so let them know they are still wanted and more worthy , the best way to die is to die active. ......
