1) Assure that if your dear one is suffering or is hospitalized , other friends and family do not pour their knowledge of Geeta and philosophy on the patient it doesn't help .... In India it's a culture to talk to a patient as if we are giving him a farewell from this world in the name of showing concern .... Beta sab ko ek din jana hai , sab karmon ke phal hain , bhagwaan ka dhyaan karo ,plz don't make sulking faces , or show extreme sadness to show concern , he is not dead.... you don't have to act...it's not a protocol, like this you assure that he gives up, be normal with him , if you are more fearful than him for him , it's your problem not his, so don't affect him with your weakness... he needs strength not gyaan , talk about movies , future and romance, it helps.
2) DON'T allow silly doctors to talk loud about patient's illness standing next to them , not that patients can't take it , just that doctors have a terminology and those terminologies have associations , like fear and history of cancer is bigger than the disease itself , .... I have witnessed doctors saying , ghar le jana chahen to ghar le jaen ... condition to serious hi hai , theek to nahin hota patient bas uski condition better kar sakte hain .... are jaanwar , saamne kyun bak raha hai ....bewakoof when a patient many a times comes out of it with his own will power or alternative therapy you will not realize how difficult you had made it.It's a science that WILL POWER CURES , and you are destroying it .... dear duffer senior doctors , it takes a patient extreme strength to develop faith that he will improve , your one sentence to the interns , there is no improvement , condition is worse, shatters the patient who is not interested in your medical class....itni angrezi sab samajhte hain aajkal.
3) Even at home we gradually kill our parents whenever we keep repeating , is umr mein , is umr mein , ye mat karo , ye mat khao , ab precaution lo , say whatever you feel like but it is so silly to programme them that they will have to die to get rid of their problem .....we keep saying , umr ho gai hai to ye sab to hoga ..... NAHIN HOTA .... many elderly people are much more healthy than teenagers.... it might be your ignorance , undercare or this mindset that will not let them improve , most ailments are curable at every age and are not always age related.... but we leave everything in the name of age and gradually push them towards death.....observe yourself , you are also suffering from several things, so are they, quoting umr umr umr all the time takes away their love to live , so don't say that....
Is this concern ?? we need to change our age old ways of responding .... it kills our dear ones.
